Historic bakery tours

An essential stop on any tour of Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges, RedBeard has it all:

  • Located in the charming rural village of Trentham - just 15 minutes before Daylesford, en route from Melbourne
  • Open all year with adjacent coach parking
  • Traditional baking craft + historic oven on display
  • 125-seat licensed café serving fine food + espresso coffee
  • Woodfired sourdough bread, baked delights + other take-home goodies

The following tour packages are available from Monday to Friday, for groups of 6 to 48 (drivers + guides free of charge):

1. Morning or afternoon tea + tour

  • Up to 60 minutes; $15 per head
  • Sweet platters of organic biscuits, pastries + slices
  • Espresso coffee or tea
  • Behind-the-scenes tour of historic baking room + demonstration of traditional baking craft

2. Lunch + tour

  • Up to 90 minutes; $35 per head
  • Savoury platters: fresh sourdough bread with local smallgoods, cheeses, olives, dips + hot pastries
  • Sweet platters: organic biscuits, pastries + slices
  • Glass of local wine or beer
  • Espresso coffee or tea
  • Behind-the-scenes tour of historic baking room + demonstration of traditional baking craft

3. Optional take-home goodies

  • Loaf of woodfired, organic sourdough bread – $6.50 each
  • Hamper: organic biscuits, jar of preserve, treacle gingerbread cake – $30 each
